Construction Update 25

The bricklayers are just about finished.

They finished the last bit above the garage and built the retaining wall for the driveway.

They laid it with a curve so it would be stronger than if it was in a straight line.

Here, they are putting the thin bricks on the chimney.

I don’t know how they are doing it, but they started at the top of the chimney and are working their way down. They made it to here around noon, then had to stop. They ran out of the bricks that go around the corners, those boxes of corner bricks hold 25 each and the boxes of thin bricks hold 50 each so someone at the brickyard mis-figured and only sent half enough bricks for the corners! We have to get a special overnight shipment out of Middle Tennessee, hopefully they will be here by noon tomorrow. GRRRR!!
