Game Camera Pictures And Garden Greens

14 Sep

WGI_0014

I finally started getting some pictures of Bucks at my feeder instead of just Does. I think I can identify at least three different Bucks.

WGI_0034

This Buck has a smaller rack

WGI_0050

This one is different still, he has more curve to his tines.

WGI_0064

Here is a doe with two Fawns.

WGI_0072

One picture with a Doe and her Fawn, a squirrel and two crows.

WGI_0095

This pictures two of the bucks at one time. This time of year they still hang out in bachelor herds, but soon the urge will hit and they will start fighting each other competing for the Does. Sounds like us guys doesn’t it?

WGI_0107

This is another Buck with small, close set horns.

WGI_0136

The Turkeys are still around.

WGI_0145

Sometimes the deer and the Turkeys come out at the same time.

WGI_0142

This is a different Buck, he actually has a half-way decent rack.

WGI_0144

And of course, I still have those dastardly Raccoons hanging around! I haven’t seen any signs of the Foxes this year, I guess they moved on after we moved in.

I planted 4 different types of greens right before the last rain and I got a good stand of all of them. But if you look at the lower right corner you can see the greens look awfully thin.

And this is why, Armyworms! We are having a plague of Biblical proportions. The worms have been destroying lawns and pastures all over the area. When the grass is gone, they move to the nearest available host such as my greens. I hope they go away soon or there won’t be enough greens for me and the deer to eat. Keep prepping everyone!

Game Camera Pictures

12 Apr

I pulled the discs out of the game cams to see if I had any unusual visitors this week.

PRMS0127

This is from the camera that is almost in our back yard area. The deer don’t mind coming right up to the house. I think if I put some feed in this area I can sit in my recliner and see them looking out of the back window.

WGI_0008

I had many pictures of the deer grazing in the back food plot.

PRMS0175

Here is a glimpse of the Red Fox slipping by on the back yard camera. He doesn’t mind coming right up in the yard either!

PRMS0160

When I first previewed my pictures I thought “alright! I finally got some pictures of the turkeys.” Well, no such luck, just some old crows squawking around.

PRMS0154

Here is the hawk that has staked out a claim to his territory on our homestead. I really worry that if I had my chickens now he might become a problem. I was worried about him getting our old cat, but the cat seems content to just stay in the house for the time being. He has always been an indoor/outdoor cat but after the move it changed some of his personality for the better. Let’s hope he stays that way.

Trail Camera Pictures

8 Mar

I put my game cam back out after having it sit in my office since Christmas. I put it on a trail real close to the back door of our house.

PRMS0053

I had a picture of this rabbit.

PRMS0017

Right about the same spot Mr. Fox came sniffing around. This is within a stones throw of our back door!

WGI_0034

I got a new camera for Christmas, and I put it in the back bottom where I had the food plot. Wilma and Jethro are romping and playing and sniffing all the deer tracks. This camera takes really good pictures in the day time, but really lousy pictures at night. I have several dozen night-time pictures of deer in this same spot, but you can barely even tell what they are.

WGI_0033

Here is a big flock of blackbirds swooping down like something out of a Hitchcock movie! Stay prepared.

Game Camera Pictures

12 Nov

I have noticed the animals are moving more at night lately.

PRMS0013

I still have not seen any bucks, just does.

PRMS0592

Got one up close of the squirrel.

PRMS0586

The coon and the possum are still coming around.

PRMS0886

And the big red fox is still around. More to come.

Game Trail Camera

29 Oct

I am still getting lots of pictures of the does on the homestead, but I’m still not seeing any bucks.

PRMS0224

Here is the doe with the two yearlings coming by for their daily feeding.

PRMS0434

This is a big ole nasty Possum coming for a meal. I don’t have any use for Possums, I don’t know if I would ever be that hungry.

PRMS0447

This squirrel came by for some corn.

PRMS0456

Here is Rocky Raccoon standing up and looking around as he comes by for his free meal. I’m still hoping for a Buck, so stay tuned.

12 Oct

I put my camera out by my neighbors feeder and got a few good pictures of some does, but I am still not seeing any bucks. My niece said she saw one by the barn last week and my neighbor said he saw a nice buck standing right in the middle of the mustard green patch.

PRMS0001

This nice little yearling still has her spots.

PRMS0006

You can see the doe standing to the right of the tree. These two pictures were taken around noon.

PRMS0091

They are back a few days later, just around midnight.

PRMS0094

This must be a different Doe because she has two yearlings with her.

PRMS0141

I caught these two dogs sniffing around. I don’t know where they belong, I’ll need to find out.

PRMS0147

The deer are back the next day around 7 am.

PRMS0156

Then at 10 am it’s the Doe with her two yearlings.

PRMS0187

Two days later they are back around noon.

PRMS0223

The next day they are back around noon, it’s lunch time I guess. HA!

PRMS0243

Then the next morning around 5 am there are 4 deer at the feeder.

PRMS0295

Then I saw this coon eating around the feeder. I can’t believe he doesn’t show up every day to get this easy, free meal.

PRMS0331

Then this Doe shows up with her little one that is so young she is trying to suckle on mama. More to come.

PRMS0046

I put out my game cam by the feeder last week to try to get you some good pictures of our turkeys. No luck yet. The only time I see the turkeys I don’t have my camera, just my cell phone. It takes good pictures up close, but it is terrible for anything at a distance. I did get more deer pictures. As I was looking them over, I noticed this one had a split left ear. I am going to keep my eyes open to see how many times I can spot her in the pictures. So until I can get a good picture of the turkeys, you will just have to trust me, they are out there!
