Tuesday Tunes; Patsy Cline

7 Aug

Recently, Sweet Thing and I were visiting the town of Dyersburg, Tennessee. We were enjoying a meal at a restaurant located in the airport. As We were leaving I noticed this phone booth by the door.

You don’t see many public phones due to the proliferation  of cell phones so I looked inside to see if there actually was a phone inside.

And there hung this old-fashioned rotary phone that actually worked.

Above the phone hung this plaque dedicated to Patsy Cline. She was returning home after a concert and stopped to refuel the plane at this airport. Apparently the weather was bad and several people advised them to spend the night, but they decided to push on anyway, leading to tragic results. It just goes to show we should use good judgment and not be in such a rush that we make mistakes and bad decisions. Be safe.
