Light Sticks are a handy item to have around if the lights go out. I keep a couple in my pickup, a couple in Sweet Thing’s vehicle, and some around the house. They will glow for 8-12 hours, won’t catch fire, don’t get hot, and only cost a couple of bucks! One of the few negatives is a shelf life of 3 years so you have to rotate them out. When they get old, give them to the kids to play with!
How many of you have a flashlight handy for when the lights go out? Do you know where it is? Are you sure? Are the batteries any good? I always check on my emergency supplies around the first of the year, that is why so many of these posts are related to preparedness and emergency planning.
I always want to have plenty of flashlights and lanterns available, not only in the house but also in the vehicles and in the barn. I needed to replace the batteries in some of the lights, but this style of lantern can be purchased for $4.00 at most places. That is less than what a replacement battery costs, so I just buy the whole set and put the old lantern in storage. This is an Eveready lantern, the lantern is Made In The USA! ( the battery is made in China ) Got light?
