Last month I had a post about eating canned foods which were out of date. One of my readers said he had eaten some English Peas which were 4 years past the expiration date on the can. He sent some pictures to prove it.
The date on the can is 2008, and the peas were opened in 2012.
According to Doug, they tasted just fine. Again I want to urge you to use good judgment when eating out of date canned goods. Make sure the can is not dented or rusty. Open the can and smell the items, look at it closely, and taste a small amount. If it looks, smells and tastes OK, then give them a try. Keep rotating those preps everyone!
